What We're About

SoftDZ grew out of a personal need for reliable software tools. Back when we started, finding a simple defect rate calculator or a decent email signature generator meant wading through ad-heavy sites or questionable downloads. So we built our own.

Today, the site covers:

• Browser-based tools — Calculators and generators that work right in your browser, no installs needed
• Download safety resources — Because we've seen too many people get burned by sketchy software
• Technical how-to guides — The kind of step-by-step instructions we wished existed when we needed them
• A searchable directory — Quick access to everything on the site

How the Tools Work

Here's something we feel strongly about: your data shouldn't leave your device unless absolutely necessary. Every calculator and generator on SoftDZ processes data locally in your browser. We don't see your inputs, don't store your results, and frankly, don't want to.

This also means the tools work offline once loaded. Run calculations on a plane, in a meeting, wherever. No internet required after the initial page load.

Why We Build This Way

A few principles guide what we create:

• Get the math right — We double-check formulas against authoritative sources. A calculator that gives wrong answers is worse than useless.
• Skip the jargon — Technical topics don't need to be confusing. If something needs explaining, we explain it.
• Solve real problems — We build tools we'd actually use ourselves, not theoretical exercises.
• Keep it current — Information gets stale. We review and update pages when things change.

A Bit of History

SoftDZ started years ago as a simple software directory—mostly download links and basic product info. Forums came next, then product guides. The site went through a quiet period before we rebuilt it with a focus on interactive tools.

You might still find some older pages around. We've kept them partly for people who link to them, partly because the information is still useful. The older stuff gets updated gradually as we work through the archive.

Technical Stuff

For the curious: SoftDZ runs as a static site. Pages are pre-built rather than generated on the fly, which makes everything faster and more reliable. No database means no database problems. Hosting is through Cloudflare's global network, so pages load quickly regardless of where you are.
