Privacy Policy

The Short Version

We don't collect much data, and what we do collect stays private. Your calculator inputs never leave your browser. We don't sell data. We don't do creepy tracking. If you use our contact form, we'll see your message and email—that's about it.

Now for the detailed version (because lawyers).

What We Actually Collect

Things You Give Us Directly

If you send us a message through the contact form, we get your name, email, and whatever you wrote. That's intentional—you're reaching out to us.

The calculators and generators? Those run entirely in your browser. When you type numbers into the defect rate calculator or create an email signature, that data stays on your device. We don't see it, can't see it, and honestly don't want to.

Automatic Technical Stuff

Like most websites, our servers log some technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type, which pages you looked at, when you visited. This is standard web hosting behavior. It helps with security and fixing problems when things break.

We may use basic analytics to understand how people use the site (which pages are popular, that sort of thing). If we do, it's privacy-respecting—no tracking across websites, no building profiles on individuals.

Cookies

We use only what's needed to make the site work properly. No third-party advertising cookies. No social media tracking widgets. Your browser settings can block cookies if you prefer, though some features might not work perfectly without them.

How We Use This Information

Pretty straightforwardly:

  • Contact form messages — to reply to you
  • Server logs — to keep things running and secure
  • Analytics (if used) — to know which tools are useful and which pages need work

We don't build advertising profiles. We don't sell lists. We don't do "data monetization."

Where Data Lives

The site runs on Cloudflare's network, which has servers globally. This means your page requests might be handled from a server near you for faster loading. Cloudflare is a reputable provider with their own strong privacy practices.

We Don't Share Your Data

With a few narrow exceptions:

  • Hosting providers — Cloudflare handles our infrastructure; they have their own privacy obligations
  • Legal requirements — If a law or court order requires it (hasn't happened yet)
  • Protecting rights — If needed to prevent fraud or protect someone's safety

That's it. No selling to advertisers. No "business partners" getting your email.

Security

Everything runs over HTTPS. We use security headers to protect against common web attacks. We keep software updated. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable precautions.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you probably have rights to:

  • Know what data we have about you (ask, and we'll tell you)
  • Get it corrected if it's wrong
  • Have it deleted (with some legal exceptions)
  • Object to how we use it

The contact page is the place to make these requests.

Kids

This site isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information. If you're a parent and think we accidentally did, contact us and we'll delete it.

Links to Other Sites

We link to external resources sometimes. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Once you leave our site, we're not responsible for what happens there.

Changes

This policy might get updated occasionally. When it does, we'll update the date at the top. For anything major, we'll make it obvious on the site.

Questions?

Reach out through the contact page. We're happy to explain anything that's unclear.

For EU Visitors (GDPR Stuff)

We process data based on legitimate interest (running the website), consent (when you contact us), and legal compliance (where required). The practical impact: same privacy protections apply regardless of where you are.
